Thanksgiving is coming! And I’m getting ready to start my menu for my gluten free dairy free thanksgiving! I’m the only one in my house that has to eat like this, but I make it so delicious no one notices. We can all eat together and I don’t have to stress about where the food came from, how it was cooked, and the ingredients! I love having the leftovers, the warm smell of the turkey, the treats for later too…So what’s my menu? Here’s what I have on the menu this year:
A huge spice rubbed oven roasted turkey!!
Mashed potatoes with Earth Balance butter
Gravy (made with rice milk and cornstarch for the thickener)
Jello (my kids love jello)
Fruit salad (my 6 year old eats fruit salad,…a little sugar changes everything)
Slush (carbonated slushy stuff)
Fudge..yes Dairy free fudge–you heard that right!
Pumpkin Pie WITH dairy free whipped cream
Apple crisp (my grandma’s recipe sooooo good!)
Corn
Stuffing
Yams (I think I’m the only one who eats these…but I love them!)
Cranberry sauce
And I always have some chocolates out for my kids that have all the good stuff I can’t have…but I have fudge so it’s ok!
Oh I hope a recipe comes for the fudge!! I made the Oh She Glows pumpkin pie last year and even my dad had seconds and didn’t realize it was df and gf!

I love it when something is loved by everyone, no matter their dietary needs!

Yes but it seems to take a lot of practices before I find good recipes that are both gluten and dairy free.
